Sunrise Beach, MO – The Destination Channel’s acclaimed travel and lifestyle series Staycation is coming to Kansas City screens. The brand-new “Lake of the Ozarks” episode will air Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CST on KSMO Channel 62.
This marks the first of many national airings over the next 14 months. The episode is already streaming on Roku TV and will continue rolling out across multiple syndicated channels nationwide. The Kansas City market premiere is the largest and most impactful local debut.
Filmed August 11–16, 2025, the episode features six exceptional vacation properties at the Lake of the Ozarks — including three homes managed by J & K Powell Properties LLC (owned by John and Kim Powell, with one personally owned by the couple). The Powells are known for their high-quality rentals and warm hospitality that perfectly embody the Staycation experience.
The episode opens with stunning footage of Ha Ha Tonka State Park and also highlights local businesses and the iconic golf course at The Club at Porto Cima. Kim Powell recently attended The Destination Channel’s 2026 Red Carpet event in Los Angeles (January 23, 2026) to celebrate the season premiere. She shared:
“Since the filming in August 2025, it has been a great experience to be a part of the whole process from filming to celebrating the final episode. This show showcased our local community as a major travel destination for visitors with a wide variety of short-term rentals — from smaller lakeside homes, such as my own lakehouse, to iconic luxury condos, to larger upscale homes in Porto Cima, and even a resort area here at the Lake of the Ozarks. It was a lot of fun to help select the location of Ha Ha Tonka State Park to be the intro to this episode and host the film crew and Evan Michael, host of Staycation. I was able to pull in local businesses into the episode, such as Playin’ Hooky Water Taxi & Charters LLC, Swallowtail Scratch Kitchen, and the iconic golf course at Port Cima Country Club.”
